33rd IEEE SIU 2025 National Undergraduate Project Competition

Invitations to participate in the 33rd IEEE SIU 2025 National Undergraduate Project Competition have been sent to the selected contestants. Poster presentations for the Undergraduate Project Competition will take place in the poster area on June 25, 2025, the opening day of the symposium.

Project presentations will be conducted using a 70x50 cm (portrait) poster, along with devices developed by the contestants for hardware and software demonstrations, and personal equipment such as laptops, tablets, or other interfaces they bring. A poster stand and a table will be provided; however, contestants are responsible for supplying any additional hardware or equipment required.

The project presentations will be held between 10:45 and 18:00, divided into three sessions in the poster area. All contestants are required to be present at the registration desk located in the Library Building (D/K) of Işık University by 9:00 AM on June 25, 2025, to learn their presentation order and complete setup.

All students who will be presenting must complete their conference registration if they have not already done so by visiting the registration page. For registration, please select the “Undergraduate Student Listener (Normal)” category. This registration also grants access to other technical sessions during the conference.

For name badge preparation and session planning, at least one student from each project group must be registered. Presentations by participants who have not registered by 11:59 PM on Sunday, June 15 will not be included in the official program.

For transportation, you may use the services listed on the conference transportation page or opt for public transport. Please note that the conference travel grant process has concluded, and no additional support for travel, registration, or accommodation will be provided specifically for participants in this competition.

SIU 2025 Undergraduate Projects Competition Announcement

The 33rd IEEE Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU 2025) is organizing an Undergraduate Projects Competition aimed at senior-year undergraduate students. The competition encourages students to share their innovative projects with academic and industry stakeholders.

Competition Topics:

• ●   Communications and Networks: Information theory, wireless communications, 5G/6G technologies, quantum communications, network security, and related topics.
• ●   Image Processing and Computer Vision: Image/video processing, object detection, remote sensing, biometric systems, and related fields.
• ●   Signal Processing and Applications: Radar, audio/video processing, embedded systems, e-health applications, robotics, and automation.
• ●   Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence: Deep learning, natural language processing, explainable AI, trustworthy machine learning, and related areas.
• ●   Biomedical Signal/Image Processing and Applications: Medical image analysis, biometric signal processing, telemedicine, and remote patient monitoring.

Participation Conditions:

• ●   The competition is open to all senior-year undergraduate students conducting projects on the SIU 2025 topics during the 2024-2025 academic year.
• ●   Projects outside of graduation theses/projects, such as research or product development projects, will also be considered.

Submission Procedure:

• Participants must complete their submissions through the form available at: https://forms.gle/r8uX73mDEwrSCz1T6, uploading the following files:
•       1. Project Report: Detailed technical report of the project (PDF format).
•       2. Video Presentation (Optional): A maximum 3-minute video introducing the project (MP4 format).

•       ● Quality of presentation
•       ● Relevance to SIU 2025 topics

Evaluation Process and Awards:

•       ● Projects selected after preliminary evaluation will be invited to a special poster session at the SIU 2025 Conference.
•       ● Projects presented at the conference will be evaluated by a jury comprising academics and industry representatives. The top three projects in each of the following categories will receive awards
•  -     Best Research Project
•  -     Most Innovative and Commercially Viable Project
•  -     Best Engineering Design Project
