Call for Special Sessions

The 33rd IEEE Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference is soliciting proposals for special sessions, to be included as part of the technical program. Special sessions will target bringing together researchers working on specific, and preferably emerging focus areas within signal processing and communications, not necessarily limited to those listed on the call for papers. These special sessions will both include invited (refereed) papers solicited by the organizers, and will be open to submissions from all participants.

Researchers who wish to organize a special session must prepare their proposals in the format outlined below and submit them via email to the Special Sessions Chair, Sinem Çöleri (scoleri@ku.edu.tr), by December 31, 2024. The list of accepted special sessions will be announced on January 13, 2025. The submission and review process for papers in accepted special sessions will be conducted in parallel with regular papers through the conference's paper review system.

Special Session Proposal Format

Special session proposals should not exceed 4 pages and must be submitted as a single PDF file. Proposals should include the following:

• • Title of the special session.


• • Information about the organizers (name, affiliation, contact details), along with a short biography (maximum 200 words) highlighting prior experience in organizing conferences and sessions.


• • Scope and topics of the special session.


• • Importance of the special session topic and justification for its inclusion in the conference.


• • Estimated number of participants and a list of invited authors who can contribute to the special session.


• • List of potential reviewers who can evaluate the special session papers.


• • Draft of the call for papers (maximum 1 page).


• • If applicable, information about similar sessions organized in the past, including participant statistics.
